Terms of Service The fair-use rulebook.
These terms govern reader accounts, creator submissions, beat licences, promotions and purchases on NaijaGossip. Effective 1 March 2026.
Accounts and eligibility
Provide accurate registration details and keep your password private. You are responsible for activity under your account. Artists, producers and writers must have the legal capacity to grant the permissions their submissions require. We may suspend accounts used for impersonation, fraud, spam, rights abuse or security attacks.
Editorial submissions
Writers retain ownership of original work. By submitting, you grant NaijaGossip a non-exclusive right to review, edit for clarity and accuracy, publish, archive and promote the accepted article with attribution. Submission does not guarantee publication. Sponsored material must be disclosed and will be labelled; commercial placement never guarantees favourable editorial coverage.
Music and artwork uploads
Upload only work you own or have documented permission to use. Your rights confirmation covers samples, featured contributions, beats, artwork and metadata. You grant us a non-exclusive licence to host, stream and—only where you enable it—distribute downloads. Admin approval is a platform review, not legal certification of ownership.
Instrumental licences
Each beat listing displays its own terms. A paid purchase grants the stated non-exclusive licence after verified payment; it does not transfer ownership of the underlying beat. Free licences are limited by their displayed terms. Do not resell the beat itself, register another producer’s work with Content ID, or exceed stream, video, broadcast or exclusivity limits without a separate agreement.
Payments, promotions and subscriptions
Prices are shown in Nigerian Naira and processed by Paystack when configured. We do not store card details. An order is complete only after server-side verification. Featured music promotion buys the described promotional placement, not plays, downloads or editorial opinion. Premium Artist lasts thirty days and does not auto-renew. Contact support promptly about duplicate or incorrect charges.
Acceptable use
Do not scrape at abusive rates, bypass download authorization, manipulate play counts, upload malware, publish unlawful allegations, harass others or interfere with the service. Automated streams and downloads may be excluded from analytics. We may remove content, restrict features or report illegal conduct where necessary.
Takedowns, corrections and disputes
Rights holders and readers can use the reporting system for copyright complaints, corrections and safety concerns. We may temporarily restrict material during review. Counter-notices should identify the work, the basis for permission and reliable contact details. Knowingly false claims are prohibited.
Availability and liability
We work to keep the platform accurate and available but cannot promise uninterrupted operation or that every user submission is accurate or authorised. Nothing in these terms excludes rights that cannot be excluded under applicable law. Nigerian law governs these terms, subject to any mandatory consumer protections that apply to you.
