🚨 BREAKING: Julián Álvarez apologises to Atlético Madrid fans, admits his World Cup comments were a mistake. 🙏🏼🔴⚪

Atlético Madrid forward Julián Álvarez has issued a heartfelt apology to the club’s supporters, admitting that his recent comments during the World Cup were a mistake and acknowledging why they sparked frustration among the fans.

Speaking to Movistar, the Argentine striker expressed regret over both the content and timing of his remarks, accepting responsibility for the reaction they generated. Álvarez also recognised that the supporters had every reason to feel disappointed, particularly given the tremendous backing they have shown him since his arrival at the club.

“I wanted to apologise to our fans for my words during the World Cup. They were a mistake. Both the way I said them and the timing,” Álvarez admitted.

The striker went further, demonstrating an understanding of the supporters’ perspective and conceding that he would have reacted similarly if he had been in their position.

“Especially because I understand why the fans were angry. I would have been angry too if I were a fan.”

Álvarez also made a point of acknowledging the loyalty and generosity of Atlético Madrid’s fanbase, expressing gratitude for their continued support despite the controversy. He extended that appreciation to his teammates, revealing that the dressing room had remained firmly behind him throughout the difficult period.

“Even more so considering how much they’ve supported me. They’ve been very generous, and I really appreciate that. I also want to thank the team because they’ve supported me throughout this time,” he added.

Beyond the controversy, the Argentine international provided an encouraging update on his physical condition and performances, explaining that he has gradually begun to rediscover his rhythm. According to Álvarez, his recent appearances have shown signs of improvement, both physically and in his technical execution on the ball.

“I’m gradually feeling better. I’m grateful to all my teammates because they’ve supported me. I’m working to improve. I’ve been feeling better in the last few matches, both physically and on the ball. I want to help the team and give my best,” he explained.

The Atlético Madrid forward also highlighted the connection between personal well-being and performances on the pitch, noting that footballers are not immune to the emotional and psychological challenges that can affect their professional lives.

“When you’re feeling good in life, it shows on the pitch. Even though we’re professionals, everything has an influence. I feel good and ready to compete for everything,” Álvarez stated.

Despite the recent tension, the Argentine remains determined to move forward, rebuild trust with the supporters, and contribute to Atlético Madrid’s ambitions through his performances. Rather than allowing the controversy to define his season, he hopes that consistency, dedication, and a humble attitude will help him win back the confidence of the club's faithful.

“Hopefully, through hard work and humility, I can turn this situation around,” he concluded.

For Álvarez, the message is clear: an apology is the first step, but performances on the pitch will ultimately determine how quickly he can restore the full confidence of Atlético Madrid supporters. ❤️🤍
